Livery and Branding

TS 24’s identity evolves from last season’s car concept, with Copamate joining as a brand identity partner to expand livery design possibilities. Marking the 25th anniversary of Team Swinburne Formula SAE, this year’s approach drew on the most distinctive details from 25 years of history to create something distinctly new. Motivated by the need for a stronger visual identity, I designed the livery to convey movement and impact, using flowing contrast lines, satin chrome anniversary accents, and Porsche Guards Red sweeping across the aerodynamic surfaces. The result is a bold and unified look that stands out from every angle.

Design Detail

A closer look at TS 24 shows that the livery is more than just a bold colour feature. Porsche Guards Red gives the car a strong presence on track, and the sharp white line details stand out against both the red and carbon fiber, bringing definition and clarity to the entire design. For the 25th anniversary, I chose a satin aluminium finish for the commemorative element, making sure it catches and reflects light in any setting, whether in the pit lane or under the sun. My intention was to create movement and unity across all aerodynamic surfaces, so the livery would appear cohesive from every angle, not just the side. Each detail was intentionally integrated, ensuring TS 24’s identity is visible and recognisable from any viewpoint. The result is a design that rewards both a quick glance and a closer look, maintaining its impact in every situation.

Concept Design

Concept Design

Imagining how TS 24’s livery would interact with the car’s monocoque and aerodynamic devices allowed me to weave stories from our team’s history into something new and deeply rooted. A subtle sweep of silver along the nose recalls the 2004 car, and the boar logo is a tribute to our 2000 beginnings. Stretches of white evoke the energy of 2022, while each element is unified by the vivid presence of Guards Red, which moves confidently across every surface. Depending on your perspective, the car reveals a different aspect of its personality, strong and recognisable from afar, yet filled with meaning and detail up close.

As you move around TS 24, you see how materials and finishes interact with the light, revealing new facets of the design from every angle. This idea guided the project to create excitement and curiosity, encouraging people to take a second look and notice something new every time.

Instead of following familiar livery patterns, TS 24’s design was developed to stand out, whether viewed in person, on the track, or onscreen. While last year’s livery focused on production simplicity, this season welcomed complexity, letting the car’s curves and proportions shape the composition. Each element carries meaning while connecting to the whole, so the overall identity of TS 24 feels unified and unmistakable wherever it is seen. The result is a design that is both visually striking and rich with references to the team’s journey.

Team Uniform

Team Uniform

Working closely with S-Trend, this year’s team apparel and competition uniform explore new ways to express our identity by drawing inspiration from colour and innovative material finishes. The competition uniform draws inspiration from the distinctive curved silhouette on top of TS 24’s sidepods, reinforcing the connection between the car and the team’s presence at events.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary, one garment features the chassis and aerodynamic profiles from each of the last 25 cars, serving as a visual tribute to the team’s long history. Another piece of apparel showcases TS 24's unique airflow, capturing the dynamic sense of movement and the engineering at the heart of this year’s car. Throughout the design process, S-Trend collaborated with us to ensure the fabric and colour choices would respond to lighting conditions, like the Guards Red paint and vinyl on TS 24, adding depth and vibrancy to every item in the collection.

Launch Night

Launch Night

For the Launch Night, the focus was on celebrating the team’s 25 years of history, highlighting the knowledge gained and growth achieved over that time. To honour this milestone, I designed a special FBR Full Boar Racing logo, which refers to the team’s original name. This logo appeared on the event backdrop, lanyards, and competition uniform, serving as a unifying element for the celebration and connecting the team’s origins to its current identity.
