Livery and Design Process
The TS 22 livery marked a significant transition for Team Swinburne, boldly addressing the challenges of COVID-19 and signalling a new creative direction. Starting with a blank canvas, the design team redefined the car’s visual identity by introducing exposed carbon fibre and moving away from traditional vinyl-wrapped and painted surfaces. The return of bright red in vinyl brought fresh energy and dynamic movement to the car’s appearance, in line with the team’s visual standards. The team carefully integrated every sponsor logo into the livery, paying close attention to viewing angles and readability both up close and on the track. A major achievement of the TS 22 design was introducing interconnected motifs and flowing lines that visually linked the car’s main components and created a continuous narrative. The strong presence of carbon fibre anchored the design, communicating stability and confidence. Overall, the TS 22 livery established a new benchmark for Team Swinburne’s identity and creative ambitions.

Design Process
The TS_22 livery identity was a major step for Team Swinburne, with a completely new canvas across the monocoque and aerodynamic kit. Introducing exposed carbon fibre changed the approach to livery design, application, and the car’s overall surface quality. For the first time, the team carefully considered how light would interact with vinyl and the surface, exploring how this could enhance colour and produce different shades. The team applied Hot Rod Red vinyl over a white underlay to boost saturation on the carbon fibre. Sponsor logo placement and integration were treated as priorities, ensuring both cohesion in the livery and the legibility of each mark. The result set a new standard for the team’s visual identity.
