Livery and Design Process
TS_19B presented a unique design challenge for Team Swinburne during the height of COVID-19, requiring a refreshed identity for the 2019 TS_19 FSAE car on a tight timeline. The objective was to build upon the existing livery while introducing a more contemporary look. The base colours of burgundy red and white were kept to minimise application time, while the new design leveraged the existing angular forms for structure. We added Hot Rod Red through a dynamic, slanted graphic that created a sense of movement and visually linked the design across the sidepods. A contrasting black stripe separated the different shades of red and white vinyl, adding definition and visual interest. Throughout the process, we carefully balanced new elements with the original identity to ensure the final livery was cohesive and visually striking. The result was a modern update that maintained continuity with the team’s history while meeting the challenges of a fast-paced design schedule.

The TS_19B project adapted Team Swinburne’s previous livery, updating the design to introduce new energy and definition. A bold slant of hot rod red was layered onto the original scheme, using the sidepod geometry to create a sense of flow and movement along the car. Contrast lines separated the various shades of red from the white sections, ensuring strong visual clarity throughout the livery. White striping along the nose and the centreline of the monocoque and sidepods provided further cohesion and reinforced the refreshed visual direction. Together, these modifications created a cohesive, contemporary look, giving TS_19B a renewed presence while preserving its connection to the team’s established identity.
